As a follow-up to the Regional Judicial Conference held in Nauru from 24 to 26 July 2024 and the adoption of the Nauru Declaration on Judicial Well-being on 25 July 2024, the Judiciary of Papua New Guinea, in partnership with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the
Commonwealth Secretariat, is pleased to announce the International Conference on Judicial Integrity and Judicial Well-being to be held from 20 to 22 August 2025 in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.
This important event is supported by the Papua New Guinea Centre for Judicial Excellence (PNGCJE) and UNODC under the framework of the Pacific Platform on Anti-Corruption: the Teieniwa Vision, and is aligned with the objectives of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC), particularly Article 11, which emphasizes the role of the judiciary in promoting integrity.
Conference Theme:
“From Principles to Action: Advancing Judicial Well-being as the Foundation for Integrity, Resilience, and Public Trust”
Building on the goals of the Global Judicial Integrity Network, established by UNODC in 2018, and the outcomes of the Nauru conference, this international conference will gather judges, judicial leaders, and experts from around the world, to explore emerging issues, trends, and good practices in the areas of judicial integrity and well-being.
This is a self-funded event. Participants are kindly asked to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses. The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will provide:
• Ground transportation upon arrival and throughout the event;
• Security arrangements for all delegates;
• Logistical and visa support as needed.
